01 Apr Install Microsoft Antimalware Extension on Virtual Machine – Azure Resource Manager

Click on below link to start the Azure PowerShell Installation using Platform Installer.

Follow the installation steps as below.

Restart your computer.

Start Windows PowerShell and connect to your Azure account. Use below command.

Login-AzureRmAccount

Enter your subscription admin ID and Password and click on Sign in.

On Successful connection, you will get your subscription details as the result of the command.

Run the following commands. Please ensure to update the fields in Bold and rest you can copy & paste.

$location = “Your Tenant Location

$resourceGroupName = “Your ResourceGroupName

$vmName = “Your VMName

$settingString = ‘{ “AntimalwareEnabled”: true}’

$allVersions= (Get-AzureRmVMExtensionImage -Location $location -PublisherName “Microsoft.Azure.Security” -Type “IaaSAntimalware”).Version

$versionString = $allVersions[($allVersions.count)-1].Split(“.”)[0] + “.” + $allVersions[($allVersions.count)-1].Split(“.”)[1]

Set-AzureRmVMExtension -ResourceGroupName $resourceGroupName -VMName $vmName -Name “IaaSAntimalware” -Publisher “Microsoft.Azure.Security” -ExtensionType “IaaSAntimalware” -TypeHandlerVersion $versionString -SettingString $settingString -Location $location

Go to Program and Features and you will see that System Center Endpoint Protection is now installed.

You can also see the new extension in Virtual Machine Settings in Azure Portal.
